RURAL HOTEL. Dating from the mid-eighteenth century, this stone “Masia” is situated in a unique spot overlooking the valley of Serradarques and is now a cosy rural hotel. In front of the house there is a large garden area set among mountains and woodland, a swimming pool (10m. x 5m.), and all the necessary garden furniture to relax outside. There is also an area for children with table tennis, swings, a slide and a see-saw. The price shown is for a double room with bath, two/ seven night´s bed and breakfast.

The house is divided into two parts, the original house and the building which in the past would have been the barn. The former barn now has two floors. On the first floor you will find a comfortable living room with fireplace, sofas and a stereo. There also childrens games and board games. Downstairs there are two bedrooms, one double and one twin. From the living room acces to the upper floor is via a wooden staircase where you will find four more bedrooms: one double and three twin. All the bedrooms have en-suite bathroom and TV. The house has up to three fold-down beds (more recommendable for children) which can be added if necessary. There are also three travel cots available for client use. In the original house you will find the dining-room equipped with TV, DVD player and stereo. Access to dining-room is on the first floor via the wooden terrace at the front of the house. Central heating.

Valldarques, a tiny village of 18 inhabitants, is sunk into the valley at the foot of sharp cliffs which mark the valley of Serradarques. Together with other villages, it belongs to the larger town of Coll de Nargó (12km away), a town with one of the largest Romanesque heritages in this region (L'Alt Urgell). The churches of St. Martí, St. Climent in Coll de Nargó and St Sadurni in Gavarra are of the most memorable. There are many opportunities for excursions on foot in the area. The “ Camí del Grau” is a guided route which starts in the grounds of the house and passes by the ruins of the castle “La Torre de la Vila” and also take in the spectacular waterfall “El Salt del Boter” over 40m high. The longer outing over the Sierra d'Aubenç is another firm favourite with hikers. Adventure sports can also be done in the area, such as hand-gliding in Fígols i Alinyà (20km) and canoeing at the Olympic Park in La Seu d'Urgell (37km). Andorra is only 45 minutes away by car. This region is very popular with the so called “caça bolets” (wild mushroom pickers) and there is a wild mushroom fare on the second Sunday of October to celebrate that many locals earn a living from this product. In Coll de Nargó there is also a Dinosaur museum which organizes visits to its own excavations in the area.
