Mas El Puig - Sant Julià de Vilatorta

Traditional Catalan country house dating from the year 1333, although it is likely the building is prior to this period, and was extended in 1879. The house is situated on the outskirts of the town of Sant Julià de Vilatorta on a 30,000m2 estate of fields and woodland. The house has a 4000m2 garden, an authentic natural swimming pool (11mx 7.5m with filter), excavated from the rock and a large walled patio with porch and all the garden furniture necessary to relax outside.

The ‘Masía' is a construction of 1050m2, of which 450m2 is dedicated for guests. Access to the house is through a large walled patio. Once on the ground floor we find a stone entrance hall that leads to a room with two double beds with access to a patio and a room with two individual beds. There is also a twin bedroom and a bathroom on the ground floor. From the entrance hall we reach the first floor where there is a twin bedroom and a bathroom. We then pass into the living room, with pool table and a dining table for up to sixteen people. Also, there is a tea room with satellite TV, DVD player, and a fireplace. At your disposal there is fully equipped kitchen with a cupboard for the washing machine and dryer. There are a further three bedrooms, one double and two twin, and another bathroom. On the first floor there are two open terraces (16m2 and 10m2 respectively) and two covered terraces, one 7m2 and a larger terrace (40m2) where you will find a large dining table and a brick barbecue. Central heating and option of sofa bed for two.

In only seven minutes on foot you can reach the small town of Sant Julià de Vilatorta where you will find all the necessary services such as supermarkets, post office, shops, bars and restaurants. The town stands out for its peaceful tree lined streets, its modernist buildings, theatre and cinema during the summer evenings and the local festivities in the second half of July. Sant Julià is only 5km away from the region's capital, Vic where you can enjoy the old quarter, main square and street markets. Only 50km from Girona, and 1 hour from Barcelona, Costa Brava beaches and the Pyrenees. In the area there is ample opportunity for adventure and excursions on foot or mountain bike through the Set Fonts and Montseny national parks. There is also the chance to do water sports at the Sau reservoir, horse riding, climbing and golf.
