Pals is a charming village located in the Baix Empordà region which conserves its original beauty despite being badly damaged during the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939). In fact, the village has been so lovingly restored, conserving the original medieval town planning, that it has received awards on three separate occasions. Without going too much further a field, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy peaceful walks among the surrounding rice fields or hills. The Pals beach is the second longest on the Costa Brava and has plenty of water sports on offer and also bikes and sailing boats to rent. The Platja de Pals golf course is only 1Km away, one of the most prestigious in Spain. There are also three other golf courses within a 4Km radius of the house. Other interesting locations include the villages of Peratallada, Ullastret (Iberian ruins), La Bisbal d’Empordà, L’Estartit and the Medes islands (marine reserve), Palafrgugell and its beaches (Calella, Llafranc, Tamariu), Begur, Palau-Sator and Fontclara.
