La Rectoria de Claverol - Claverol

Former village rectory now fully restored and devoted to holiday rental. Situated at the top the hill that dominates the small village of Claverol in the foothills of the Pyrenees Mountains, and only 5km from the regional capital, La Pobla de Segur. The position of the property offers great views over the Noguera Pallaresa River at the point where it runs into the Sant Antoni reservoir. The rectory has a large patio ideal for children’s games or for locating a paddling pool in the summer. It is also an ideal place to leave sport’s equipment for the wide variety of adventure sports on offer in the region. The nearest bathing places are the Sant Antoni reservoir, the river Noguera Pallaresa or the town swimming pool in La Pobla de Segur. There is also a number of other lakes in the area such as Lake Montcotés. This property does not provide bed linen or bath towels.

The property is distributed on three floors. On the ground floor there is a large dining-room (for 36 people) with fireplace that connects onto the kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with fridge, large freezer, microwave and cooker. From the kitchen there is access to an anteroom where we find the washing machine and a bathroom with three toilets and three showers. There is also a store room to leave skis in winter. The first floor is divided into one bedroom sleeping six  (bunk beds),  four bedrooms sleeping five (bunk beds) and one bedroom sleeping four (bunk beds). There is also a twin bedroom and a toilet, a bathroom with three separate toilets and showers. On the second floor there is a large room with tables and chairs, a great place for children’s games. Central heating.

The property’s strategic location allows all kinds of outdoor activities. For the more adventurous there is gorge walking, climbing (Congost de Collegats), hydrospeed, rafting (from Llavorsí to Sort), canoeing, sailing (Sant Antoni reservoir) and mountain-biking (bike rental in La Pobla de Segur). Opportunities for winter sports include alpine skiing in Tavascan and Spot, and cross-country skiing at Bosc-Virós and Tavascan. The region is a perfect place to enjoy all kinds of wildlife, the Congost de Montrebei otter reserve, Cap de Boumort national hunting reserve (with an important deer population) and plenty of opportunities for bird spotting (vultures, golden eagles etc).
